Surender Munjal

Surender Munjal is Professor of International Business at Aston University. He is a world leading expert on emerging markets, with special focus on economies in the South Asia and the Commonwealth. He has edited three special issues, two books and published over forty articles in top tier journals in the field of International Business, Economics and Management, including Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS), Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM), Journal of World Business (JWB), British Journal of Management (BJM), Cambridge Journal of Economics (CJE), Journal of International Management (JIM), Journal of Business Research (JBR), International Business Review (IBR) and Management and Organization Review (MOR).
He serves on the editorial boards of Production and Operations Management Journal (POM), International Business Review (IBR), Journal of Business Research (JBR), Management International Review (MIR), Asian Business and Management (ABM) and Foreign Trade Review (FTR).
Professor Munjal has contributed extensively to the growth of Academy of International Business (AIB) and Academy of Management (AOM) in the United Kingdom, India and South Asia region. He is the advisory board member of the AIB South Asia Chapter, providing strategic direction to the chapter for its future growth. He is on the executive board of the Indian Academy of Management since its inception, as the founding secretary of the academy. He has also led the UK and Ireland Chapter as the Convenor of Doctoral Colloquium, during 2017 – 2023.
Professor Munjal is a qualified Chartered Accountant as well as Management Accountant. He has worked at the University of Leeds and University of Delhi. At Leeds, he was the Director of James E. Lynch India and South Asia Business Centre – the corporate engagement arm of the university – for nine years (2013- 2022).
